Stranger than Fiction?

There were reports of Voting Machines failing in Venezuela today. Company that made those machines? Smartmatic. Anybody surprised about this?

Venezuela had a high turnout. Hugo Chavez won. Surprised? Would it surprise you that there were some things about the election that just wasn't right? Vcrisis.com live blogged the events as it happened.

Folks, it's imparative that we start paying more attention to this dictator to the south. His victory just raised the stakes in the 2008 election. We will have an enemy of this nation for the next 6 years and quite possibly, this is Venezuela's final election.

Our next President better be a strong leader, whether it be a Republican or a Democrat, or we are going to be in a major downfall. May God help us.

Let's get back to American politics. Well, technically, I didn't leave American politics, since Elgordo is in the Americas, but that is besides the point. Let's get back to the United States. I really want to talk about Fausta's recent post, in which, she started talking about how some people consider tattoos sexy. I don't.

I don't consider it sexy when a woman has a tattoo. I don't consider thongs sexy, and I certainly don't consider a girl sexy when she's had more men in her bed than a military base. I hope that I don't get too far off my train of thought, but there was a related story about hookers being killed in Atlantic city that caught my attention. In the story, there is a 23 year old "sex worker" who looks "twice her age".

Folks, what in the world is so sexy about a girl who looks twice her age? Maybe she knows how to satisfy a man, and a bonus, she'll throw in your choice of seven different venereal disease, at no extra cost! Maybe I live in a fantasy world, I don't know. There's just some things that I know that guys find attractive. I want a woman that's a challenge to get. I want a woman who is at my level or better than me.

And I knew I was going to do this, get off topic, a little. I was thinking about hunters and sex. Maybe it's some subconscience desire of mine to go hunt me a little Bambi, the seven year itch, if you will. But there is one thing universal about men, and that one thing is the desire to conquer. It's a desire that all men need fulfilled. Hunters fulfill that desire by going out and hunting. What I'm saying, and I don't have facts to back this up, but I'll bet, hunters are less likely to commit adultry than non hunters.

Which brings me back to the hookers, loose women, et al. Men have a need to conquer. Men need a challenge. When they get a woman who isn't a challenge, they begin to look elsewhere. Hence, why no guy wants loose women.

Which brings me back ontrack. Our society is oversexed, but it goes back to our most innate needs, and sex is the way many people are finding a way to fulfill those needs. It's a self esteem issue. People who are obsessed with sex, do so, because they have not found their purpose in life. Men have a need to conquer and until they find a purpose to their life, will attempt to conquer women. Women have a innate desire to be beautiful, and often, women will confuse sex with being beautiful.

The scary part is that the oversexing of our society is spilling over into publicity stunts. We have stars intentionally exposing theirselves in order to help re-invigorate their careers. Wasn't it enough that stars would check theirselves into rehab in order to get people talking about them again? This pass week, we had Louisiana's own Britney Spears expose herself three times in one week, and one of those days she actually bought panties.

God forbid if this becomes the norm for politicians to do this in order to get media attention. Could you imagine Nancy Pelosi showing the world that she doesn't smuggle classified document like Sandy Berger does? Or Hillary Clinton showing us that she would bring piece to the Middle East? Worse yet, can you hear Helen Thomas's apology? "I was so stressed out about the possibility of Dick Cheney running for President, that I forgot to put panties on."

I enjoy sex as much as the next guy does, but at least I don't have to act like I discovered it yesterday. Sex is supposed to be an enjoyable part of life, not the purpose of it.

The good news and bad news for Gov. Blanco

First, the good news. The good news for Governor Kathleen Blanco is that she probably won't be the worst candidate for Governor of Louisiana. With the field getting crowded with candidates more suitable to take the oath of office more so than her, it could only serve as good news that attorney Hardy Parkerson from Lake Charles wants to get into the race. Pipe dream, I know, but I've lived in this state to know that something happens to people here on election day. They seem to get the choice between the two worst candidates. Mitch Landrieu and Mayor Ray Nagin are examples as is, William Jefferson and Karen Carter. At leat if Karen Carter wins, she'll probably escape being investigated, but only because the powers that be will ignore it as long as possible.

But the bad news. LSU was apparently headed to the Rose Bowl, so in her save the day fever, Governor Kathleen Blanco decided that she would make some calls, you know, pull some strings. LSU is now going to the Sugarbowl.

I'm not saying that her calls caused LSU to miss the Rose Bowl, but she obviously didn't help them. You know, after witnessing how she helped the hurricane victims, and how she helped LSU go to the Rosebowl, and how she helped John Kerry win Louisiana voters, I think I'd rather have my arms and legs ripped out than receive help from her. Even her "Road Home" program hasn't been very effective, and she needs it to be. Where else is she going to get voters from?

I share the same last name as the governor and at the rate she's going, I'm either going to have to change my last name, or get a concealed weapons permit. She seems to get worse, leaving Louisianans shaking their head, anxious for election day, so that we can get somebody new. The one thing positive that can be said about Governor Kathleen Blanco, is that she's consistent. Everybody understands that whatever her solution ends up being, we know it ain't gonna work and it's going to be very costly to the state.

Thoughts From the Mind

They didn't have to. Nobody asked them to. They just went. They went even though many people told them not to. Was it you? When you heard they were going, did you tell them not to? But he or she went anyway. They went to serve their country. Maybe the Army, the Navy, the Airforce, the Marines, but they went.

They went to serve their countries. They went to stand on the front line of defense. Many of you never served. That's okay. For whatever reason you didn't go, I'm sure that it's justified. Remember, they must stand on that wall of defense so you don't have too. If anybody owes anybody anything, it's those of us who didn't go, while they sacrificed a part of their life to serve their country.

I think we owe them a bit of gratitude. So take a few minutes to say thanks

Now I know some of you out there don't like our men and women who are serving overseas. You'd rather send them into the middle of a war, tell them to keep the peace, and have them wait until fired upon before they fire a single shot.

Truth is, they aren't cowards like so many of us who sit around waiting for the next war protest. We act as if war is so horrible, denounce it as if there is no justifiable reason to go to war, when the truth is, you were too much of a coward to go and to justify that very cowardice, you try to demean the men and women who are far better than those of us who didn't go.

Truth is, those men and women do more to keep us out of war, than you will ever do with your silly 'holier than thou' war protest. They know more about how to win a war, and how an enemy ought to be treated, and exactly what kind of people they are fighting against. They don't need you, nor do they want you, telling them how to their jobs. Quite frankly, if you wanted to decide how war should be fought, then why aren't you there? Shouldn't you lead by example? You know more than they do, go!

You think going to the park, sitting in the sunshine, protesting the war is going to get a thank you from anybody? Only the enemy. You think pulling us out of war wins peace? You win a war for the enemy. Do you really believe that peace was won by the Vietnam War protestors? Ya think the people that we slaughtered after that would agree? What they successfully accomplished is removing an obstacle to victory out of the way for totalitarianism. What they successfully did was allow wars to get created. They encouraged the enemy to fight even harder. Today, you accomplish the same.

Nobody owes you a thank you. You, more than anybody, needs to kneel down and kiss the soldier on his ***. The least you can do is say thank you.

The DeChavez Code Chapter II

The DeChavez Code is located just below the fold

Alo Venezuelanos,

Quiero Mucho,

Conservativo De Louisiana

Don't nit pick my spanish, it's not like the people of Venezuela are going to be able to read it. Look on the side bar, it's prohibited for the people of Venezuela to read it.

Sunday is the big day, and though I said Monday is the day of liberty, me thinks Monday is when the real election in Venezuela begins. Regardless of the outcome, I don't think that there will be peace in Venezuela. Me thinks they are doomed to a revolution.

That's a real smart move, right? Something like this should be said at least six months in advanced, right? Isn't that how politics is? You see, if I had said this six months ago, it would be forgotten that I had ever said it, if I'm wrong. If I'm right, boy, I can point to it and brag about how smart I am. I remind you how right I was all along.

But two days before an election? The smart money would just keep their mouth shut and wait for whatever happens on Sunday, then they'd tell us how they knew what was going to happen all along.

Hugo won't go peacefully. If he loses, he'll accuse Manuel Rosales of rigging the election. It's the Democratissocialistischavez's way. Personally I think the paper ballots are going to be stuffed with votes for Chavez. Chavez has no plans of losing this election and will do everything in his power to ensure that he remains President.

Think I'm kidding? Remember Sore/Loserman? Did you see Mexico today? Watch Mexico tomorrow. Just a preview of what' going to happen in Venezuela should Chavez lose.

What if Chavez wins? If Chavez wins, this will be the last election for Venezuela. Chavez wants to force a one party system and he'll use the victory as a mandate to do so.

Chavez has said he wants his revolutionary movement represented by a single party after Sunday's election but has also stressed that he would always tolerate an opposition.

He has also sparked comparisons to Castro by launching high-profile land confiscations, seizing private companies and taking control of oil projects previously run by foreign firms.

With a one party system, there is no need for an election. Should Manuel Rosales lose, the only hope for the Venezuelan Right, is Revolution.

************************************************************************

The DeChavez Code

The more I learn about Smartmatic and Sequoia Voting Systems, the more odd that it gets. Any novelist out there need a great idea for a story? We got it here. Only this time, it's for real.

I'm really surprised that the blogosphere hasn't picked up on this. Is this the same blogosphere that exposed Dan Rather and iCBS? There is a medium-high possibility that Elgordo interfered in our elections and there's mounting evidence in this. Can you believe, it's coming from the MSM and not the blogosphere? What happened? I take a very long vacation from blogging and everything is turned upside down? Democrats winning, MSM actually reporting the news, what happened? Britney Spears expose herself again?

Update: So, we are going to play a game called The DeChavez Code. Like The DaVinci Code, you'll have to figure out the story, within the stories. In the previous post, there are some facts that will help you solve the problem. Can you solve the mystery?

I'm going to tell it to you like gossip, or a story. Oooh, if I tell it to you using puppet or dinosaurs, would you believe me then? I'll just tell it too you like gossip.

Dude, check this out. I was surfin the internet and I seen a gooder one today. George Bush and the Republicans are sending rigged voting machines to Venezuela. I saw that and I was like "DUDE! Bush is stealing an election!" I was so mad at Bush, I had to smoke a bowl. I can't wait until 'Orgasm for Peace day', I hope I can get a clean girl this time.

So you won't believe what I found out next, those Sigourney Vote machines allow the Republicans to vote more than once! I was like "Dude! Bush tried to steal the election in California!" I was so mad, I wanted to smoke a bong, but since I was still feeling good from the bowl I smoked, I thought about Britney Spears. Dude, I forgot to send her an email, I was hoping she'd be my partner for 'Orgasm for Peace' day.

Anyways dog, what were we talking about? Oh yeah, Bush stealing elections. I found out that the owner of Sam, uh the company that makes machines for Bush was in

Palm Beach when they stole the election from Gore! I was like, "Dude! That dude helped steal the election from Gore!". I was so mad, I wanted to march into the streets and protest, but then I remembered 'Orgasm for Peace' day.

Dude, it makes me so mad just talking about it, I need a joint, you got one? Oh yeah, I forgot! Check this out! Now Bush wants to blame that President who criticizes Bush for being evil. It's like, Bush is always doing things like this, he must be the dumbest President in the history of the United States. I saw that and I was like "Dude, Bush hates Latinos!"

Now, is the story believable enough for you? You want me to through in some UFO's too? How about if we got Dan Brown to write the story then say he did his research. Will you believe it then?

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Corrections are being have been made

Most of you are already aware of my utter disdain of these two dictators, but what you probably did not know is this.

The HuChavez Code

What if you could control the outcome of any election, anywhere in the world?

While people are still fascinated by 'The DaVinci Code', a story in which the facts are easily debunked with just a few minutes of research, another story is being uncovered that is real and the stakes are much greater. The fate of nations rests on this. What we leave behind for posterity, depends completely on our thirst for knowledge. It's a story that I will let you do the research. I will post some facts, and let you solve this mystery. If you choose to swallow the pill, there is no turning back. Truth is stranger than fiction. So let's begin the first great mystery of the 21st Century.

Let's start with Sequoia Voting Systems, let's follow the trail, see what exotic countries it takes us too.

Fact - In various areas of the United States, there were election irregularities involving Sequoia Voting Systems

Colorado Election Irregularities
More irregularities

Fact - Sequoia Voting Systems is owned by Smartmatic Corporation, the co-founders are Venezuelan.

Antonio Mugica, Bitza Corp, 28% ownership by Venezuelan gov? 04 Nov 2005

Fact -Smartmatic denies having ties to Hugo Chavez and is currently under federal investigation.

Denying the 28% ownership of the Venezuelan Government

Fact - Cook County also had major election problems earlier this involving... Sequoia Voting Systems. Sequoia flew people up from Venezuela to help sort out the problems.

Chicago Election Irregularities and moreChicago Election Irregularities

Fact - The first election that Smartmatic participated in was the controversial 2004 referendum on Hugo Chavez.

Jimmuh Cartuh approves
Jimmy and Hugo sittin in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G

Fact -Exit Polls in that election showed that 41% wanted Hugo Chavez to continue as President, 58% wanted him out.

Hey, Hey, Hey, Goodbye!

Fact -Election results 41% voted Hugo Chavez out, 58% voted to keep Hugo Chavez as President. That election is widely viewed as being rigged.

Nyah, Nyah, Nyah

Fact - prior to that election, Smartmatic never built voting machines.

Inexperienced, but delivering a safety net to Hugo.

Fact - The Hugo Chavez ran Venezuela gave Smartmatic, home based business with no experience, $120 million to build the election machines.

Even the New York Times is picking up on this

There are more facts concerning Venezuela, Smartmatic, and the United States elections, do some research.

Fact - Hugo Chavez is trying to influence elections throughout South and Central America with the intent of placing Anti U.S. leaders in power.

In Nicaragua
Ecuador

Fact - When you purchase Citgo gas, you are purchasing from Pdvsa.

Citgo-PDVSA

Fact - PDVSA is owned by the Venezuelan Government

PDVSA-Venezuela State ran.

Fact - Venezuela confiscated oil refineries in Venezuela from a French Company. (Can not confirm at this time, Lexis Nexis search should confirm.) Confirmed

Fact - Hugo Chavez is building up his military and they are loyal to him.

Russia begins shipment of fighter planes to Russia

Other Reports being ignored by the MSM

WASHINGTON – Pentagon officials have confirmed human smuggling rings in Latin America are attempting to sneak al-Qaida operatives into the U.S

Al-Qaida south of the border

Hugo protects Hezbollah in Venezuela?

Fact - It was reported in January 2003 that Hugo Chavez gave Osama Bin Laden 1 million dollars for his work on 9-11

Defector: Chavez gave $1 million to al-Qaida

Fact - Britain's secret intelligence service, MI6, has established the first proof al-Qaida is playing a major role in the new Cold War between North and South America

Confirmed Al Qaida Coming To America

You may not think we are at war with Venezuela, but Hugo Chavez is at war with us.

You may not think he's a threat to the United States, but our ignorance allows him to gain more power and influence everyday.

There is something you can do. There is something that each one of us can do, or not do.

Venezuela exports 1,000,000 barrels of oil to the United States everyday. Only Canada, Suadi Arabia, and Mexico exports more to the U.S., Iraq is 6th largest, importing about half as much as Venezuela.

When we purchase Citgo gas, we aid Hugo Chavez. We invite war, our destruction, the death of American freedom. It's time for each American to stop buying Citgo gas.

Brain Bullets

It's been a while since I have done an edition of brain bullets and so tonight I thought that I would. But first, these announcements.

Return of the Liberal Church - Season 2 That's right folks, the ever popular Liberal Church Sermons will return in January. Join the Reverend Sammy Sosalist, Reverend Jessica Jackstone, and some new characters as this wacky bunch tries to out liberal the liberals. With Democrats back in control of the house and senate, this year is sure to be wackier than ever. In the meantime, say your nightly prayer to the Holy Spirit Che Guevara.

Interview with a blogger - Founder of Wide Awakes Radio, Kender, will be my guest in the premier of 'Interview with a Blogger'. Another guest will be George Roper of GM's corner, who recently battled cancer and won. If you own a blog and would like to be interviewed, please send me a message on Yahoo IM at avman82000. Please include a link to your blog and tell me why I should interview you. This series will start within the next week.

Liberal Bible Study - In early Spring, join us as we learn about the old constitution and learn to read it as only a Liberal can.

AV~Playoff Picks - Each year, during the NFL season, I always gave my football picks. This year, I have been derelict in my duties, how Clintonesque of me. However, I will not miss the playoffs. Look for my blog schedule shortly after Christmas.

The last thing is a request. I know many of you like to take my articles, writings, et al, and forward them through emails. I appreciate it when you do that, however, I would like to request that you also include a link back to this site, though not necessarily the article.

Brain Bullets (to keep the cerebral uzi cocked and loaded)

"Actual happiness looks pretty squalid in comparison with the overcompensations for misery. And, of course, stability isn't nearly so spectacular as instability. And being contented has none of the glamour of a good fight against misfortune, none of the picturesqueness of a struggle with temptation, or a fatal overthrow by passion or doubt. Happiness is never grand." -Aldous Huxley

A couple of years ago, I'd see this older white lady walking up and down the street. She was very nice, in fact, one could say she was very generous, even liberal in what she would give away. She was a thrill seeker, and for a few bucks, she'd thrill you too. Enough men, and probably some government agency giving her money meant she didn't have to work. Which she was too busy partying to be bothered with work, anyway, so I guess it worked out well for her.

I never forgot this woman, forty something years old, getting into fist fights on a daily basis, always looking for her next high, and her boyfriend was even nice enough to find the men who needed satisfied for her. I remember the day that shocked me, the day I found out that she was only 24. We often think happiness is thrilling, exciting, the new high, but when we travel down that path we find much more misery, pain, and our bodies takes it's toll. We grow old before our time, but our minds never mature.

Happiness isn't about staying happy all the time, or as often as possible. It's about settling down, finding your purpose in life, accomplishing goals, earning respect, gaining knowledge and the greatest joy is in seeing that knowledge passed on and practiced. It's not glorious, the highs are much further apart, but once you know your purpose, those joys suddenly are less important.

"Only when we are no longer afraid do we begin to live." -Dorothy Thompson

"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." -Helen Keller

I believe I have said it here, but I know I have said it elsewhere, you can not live life by avoiding death. If you want life, go live! We all know somebody who is so worried about living that they spend most of their time worrying about things that could kill them. They want more laws on the books, let fear stop them from taking on new adventures, and safe in everything they do, but in the end, we all find ourselves taking a dirtnap.

The way I look at death is simple. Either there is a God, or there ain't. If there ain't a God, we won't know we died, when it happens. If there is a God, then you'd better have your business with him taken care of before you go see him. I have my business settled with God, so there's nothing left to fear. Life was meant to be lived, and live it, I shall.

"God grant me the courage not to give up what I think is right, even though I think it is hopeless." -- Chester W. Nimitz.

When I first started this blog, I looked around the world and did not like what I saw. I looked at a Republican Presidency that appeared to me to be far away from my beliefs. Most of my allies seemed to have abandonned our core values. I thought I was alone, and never felt more so. It was the coldest part of my life. I didn't see anybody else standing up for what I believed, so I did. Alone if I must. I fought through the weakness, the coldness, the loneliness, and I began to type away.

They say, if you stand still long enough, the world will come back to you. When I stood up, I could see beyond that which was blocking my view. I saw, I was not alone. When you're sitting there wondering why everything is wrong, stand up for what's right, alone, if you must.

They All Look Like Dead Presidents To Me

I saw this story on the Drudge Report today, and can you believe it, our federal government discriminates against the blind. However, I won't discriminate against the blind. Besides, it's not like I can offend them, they can't read any of this. Wait, am I discriminating against them too? I mean, they can't read this, and what if I want them to be offended? Or are they discriminating against me? If they don't read this? I know, I'll sue Al Gore for inventing the internet, but not making it easier for me to pass information onto the blind.

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." - Thomas Jefferson
This is so unfair, I ought to be able to sue the government for something. They discriminate against me. I know, they say I make too much money for welfare. That's not fair. I should get some too and it's discrimination not to give me welfare. Why should I pay and pay and pay and then I can't get some of the goodies from the government? I'm sure that I can find another judge that smokes as much grass as this judge does.

I remember when I was working on my last job and one of my customers was blind. He asked how much he owed me and then reached into his pocket, pulled out some cash, and gave me the correct amount. Bills mind you, I was astonished.

In fact, I did not believe he was blind. I assumed that he was pretending to be blind to see if I was being honest. As it turned out, he was actually blind. So I asked him, how did he do that? How did he know how much to give me? Turned out, he kept very good track of his money, knew exactly how many bills he had, what bills he had by feeling them and counting them.

Point is, blind people can adapt.

But there is another point that I'd like to make. Actually two.

First, are you as sick and tired as I am that some government official deciding against the idea that all men are created equal? This time it's a judge telling us that blind people can't do something. Everytime I turn around, somebody else was somehow born inferior to the rest of us. Seems to me, by the time we get used to the latest discrimination, there is a new type of discrimination. We find new depths to our inabilities.

"Welfare is a narcotic, a subtle destroyer of the human spirit."- Franklin Delano Roosevelt
This is my problem with affirmative action. What is affirmative action other than to say that minorities are too incapable and too incompetent of playing on a level playing field with white people? It's too suggest that middle class minorities are not as capable of achieving as low income white people, for no other reason than the color of their skin. It's insultive, it's a slap in the face of minorities.

Each time a government entity decides that we are incapable of handling a situation without their help, it successfully robs us of our own personal abilities, and future governments inherits a more irresponsible society. The more government does for us, the less we can do for ourselves, the more we look to government. For many, government has become their great provider, government is their God.

"Too many people are demanding a new law regulating this person or that person, and not enough people are standing up for freedoms that they do not exercise and then we are left standing there, scratching our heads, wondering, 'Where has our freedom gone?' when the truth is, we can't give it away fast enough."

"I could not tell you how much respect and awe that I have for government employees because it must be so hard to do. I know that I could not do a government job, it's physically impossible for me to move that slow."

Back to the Future?

If you want to be updated on this weblog Enter your email here:

Why are people so insistent that America will never become a totalitarian state? Is it because we think that because the people have a say that it just isn't possible? Or has despotism become such a distant memory that we've taken freedom for granted? Do we see ourselves as such a great bastion of freedom that we are immune from the disease of barbarianism that has inflicted so much of the rest of the world throughout history?

Are we so far separated from the rest of the world that we don't have a reason to see what's going on around the rest of the world? Is it arrogance? Maybe our nation is too large, we have enough newsworthy events happening here in the United States, to keep our attention off of the rest of the world.

When asked 'What have you wrought?' Ben Franklin replied "A Republic,if ye can keep it."

We ignore the slaughters of innocents in countries such as what's currently happening in Sudan with the Darfur rebels. Oh we'll eventually pay attention, as soon as it comes out in movie theaters, much like we did with 'Hotel Rwanda'. Wasn't that so sad? How could something like that happen? Maybe we should pay closer attention to what's happening when it's happening instead of waiting for it to come out in theaters or DVD?

We have people in this country who compare Iraq to Vietnam, how 2,000 soldiers dead compares with 58,000 soldiers dead is beyond me. My calculations may be off just a little but, wouldn't that make Vietnam like 29 times worse than Iraq is? Hello? Speekun of these protestors, I'd be surprised if any of them can even find Iraq on a map, much less explain to you why pulling out of Vietnam without victory actually caused more wars, cost more lives, than had we finished with victory. Our lack of attention is why we are doomed to repeat the past. Like Vietnam, leaving Iraq short of victory will create more wars, with thousands more lives lost.

How many people realize that we have a dictator living a mere 90 miles off of Florida? 90 miles off the coast of Florida and there, it's illegal for the people to catch lobster, slaughter cattle, or even speak freely. For my more liberal readers out there, that country is Cuba.

"If you care more for the handouts you are getting on a daily basis than for freedom, democracy and human dignity vote for Chavez;"

Speekun of dictators, let's talk about Cindy Sheehan's favorite crusader of suffering, oppressor of the people, Elgordo Chavez. He has an election coming up. Fausta, yeah, she can be trusted with good info on Elgordo. Despite Elgordo Chavez's attempt to silence the masses with road blocks, 1.4 million people still showed up to cheer on the anti-Iranisfidelischavez forces of suppression. Definitely visit Fausta's, bookmark it, and, instead of Taco Bell, use her site as a reference for what's happening south of the border.

Despite agreeing with her that Elgordo Chavez won't actually get the majority of the vote, I'm less optimistic that he'll lose the election. This is a man who reportedly gave Osama Bin Laden one million dollars "for his work on 9-11." and no, that wasn't just something Pat Robertson made up. Reports also have Al Qaida in Venezuela as well as his meddling in Latin American elections in order to place anti-American leaders in power.

What's worse, if many of our conservative allies won't even admit that Elgordo Chavez is an enemy of our nation, how can we expect the rest of the nation to see it? Like it or not, we'll soon be at war with Venezuela, because Elgordo is already at war with us. That is, unless he gets thrown out of power. Even then, he won't go peacefully. I predict the results have Elgordo winning big, but dear God, I hope I'm wrong. Regardless of the election results, Venezuela is a country that is ripe for civil war.

The question is, really, with Americans so oblivious to the growing threat in Central and South America, ignorant of what's happening in the rest of the world, proud to be embarrassed as we pull our troops out of Iraq, while seeking salvation from their own local governments, how much time do we have left?

For Praise and Criticism - The Proper Role of Govmint

It seems to me that there are only two sides to politics, with each side having it's own set of flavors as to which direction our nation should go. Thomas Jefferson referenced the pendulum swinging to describe this. There's the ideology that society is incapable of living freely, that we need some type of overseer to make sure that everything is in balance. I can't speak well of this thinking. Though it is true that I hold it with utter disdain, it's that I favor a free society and love freedom enough that I took the initiative and studied in my spare time what the founding fathers said freedom was supposed to be.
'I've been called... a 7 letter word that also starts with an 'A' to a greedy, racist Republican... from the nicer people.'

It's the proper role of government which I consistently find myself standing up for, and often I'm standing alone. I have learned to consider the source of all praise and criticism. I've learned to enjoy the comments regardless of what they say. I've been called everything from an 'anarchist' to a 'hatemonger', from a '7 letter word that also starts with an 'A', 'to a greedy, racist Republican', and that's from the nicer people. Once I considered the source, I found that these comments serve as a badge of honor, not an insult. In fact, it worries me most when all I get in return is silence.

Let's take a look at what anarchism really is, 'no government', right? At first glance, it seems to be such a horrible idea, but I would argue that society existed without government before. Who made who? Did government create a society to support it? Or did society create government, choosing to support that government? Obviously society created government for a reason. Society can exist without government, and at some point, it did.

So let's imagine in our minds that we are back in the time when people had complete freedom, they were able to do as they pleased. Somebody didn't like them, they killed them right? And what in turn happened to them? In any society, one can not do as one pleases without consequences to their actions. In any society, one can not walk around hitting people without getting hit back. Society must have some order to it, some type of moral code, if you will.
"Our Government was made for a moral and a religious people it is wholly inadequate for the governance of any other." -John Adams

It's when people violate that moral code set before society that the people begin to turn away from the individual and find ways to punish them. Even without government, the people of a society will seek punishment. Without government, that mentality becomes a mob rules. Though I could not lend my support to mob rules as a recourse to violations of society, it does provide for no individual being above the law.

In a free society, people must have a moral code among them, or that society would fail to exist. I know some of the more liberal readers are probably cringing at the thought of morals, but isn't that what all laws are based on? The moral values of those who put the laws into effect? Laws dictate what, or how, one ought to behave, and the consequences of such behavior.

When Government's moral values, or laws, are not in line with what the majority of people's moral code, then government has overstepped it's bounds. In some cases, it's an obligation of the people to violate those laws. The era of abolition with moonshiners, ''untouchables', and speakeasies come to mind as does the Boston Tea Party. It's an obligation of the people to revolt, as peacefully as possible.

So how did we come to create government, what is the role of government, and when does it become too much? All societies have some form of government, even in an anarchist state. Everybody follows and everybody is a leader at some point in their life. The very core government is the government of the home, in which, the parents set their rules and regulations, and the children have to obey those rules or face the consequences. That body of government feeds, clothes, shelters, teaches, and protects. None can over estimate the role of family in government. It's the most basic institution and in it's success teaches the children to live productive lives, it's failure leads to the first revolt.

'After all, if men can not be trusted to be self governing, how then, can they be trusted with the governance of others?'

I suspect that the first government was formed as a means to the common defense. If a nation is without a government, another nation would soon govern that nation. If your only options are to be governed by one of your own, or governed by a foriegner, which would you choose? Common defense is the purpose of government; it is the most basic principle that people would give consent to the formation of a government.

Still, it seems to me that common defense isn't the only reason for a governing body. There are some other benefits to having a government, the proper role of government. This is where things get grey, taken out of context, and too often to the extreme. Our founding forefathers laid out the proper role of our government in the United States Constitution. To be more specific, the role of congress in Section 8 Article 1 of the United States Constitution. Among them was to provide for a postal service, roads, govern interstate commerce, and to fund the military. Somewhere, however, we seemed to have lost our way.

In my mind, it is enough that the government has certain limitations on people, that one can not intentionally harm me, nor my property without some facing some sort of consequences. Should it happen that a person break into my home and take my property, or attempt to physically harm me, I have the ability to defend myself. If I am not there to defend myself, it is enough for me that I have a recourse available should there be harm done to me.

"Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom it is the argument of tyrants it's the creed of slaves" -William Pitt

There are those among us that have chosen to abuse and manipulate the term 'your freedom ends where my nose begins' into meaning that any inconvenience, annoyance, or dislikes ought to be outlawed based on nothing more than the possibility of harm coming from it. We have people that want to outlaw everything from tobacco smoke, hand held cellphones, and a breed of animal (pitbulls). The possibility of harm has become enough to regulate in our society, and when government invades the pursuit of happiness in order to provide security, it oversteps it's bounds. It's not the proper role of government to prevent another from harming you, but to provide you with recourse if they do, and if it can be proven that another did harm to you. After all, if men can not be trusted to be self governing, how then, can they be trusted with the governance of others?

These people that choose to have government abuse it's role, do so in the name of compassion, caring, safety, but at it's core it's selfishness, fear, and it's a self serving moral superiority. It's an attempt to force others to live by their moral code, after the people have long rejected it on their own. We've managed to over regulate gun ownership because of that same self serving moral superiority, yet the murder rate continues to be among the highest in the history of this nation.

The abuse of government leads to more abuse of government. My passion lately, seems to have been tied up in banning of the cellphones, so let's focus on that. The argument now is that it's unsafe for drivers to talk on their handheld cellphones, that it's a distraction. They'll point to other laws, such as DWI, road signs, speed limits, or other current laws to justify their argument.

"Society in every state is but a blessing; Government, in it's best state a necessary evil in it's worse state, an intolerable one" -Thomas Paine

Valid points, right? Sure, but then, doesn't that merely open the door to future laws on other potential distractions? If talking on the hand held is a distraction, then why isn't it a distraction to talk on a speaker phone? If cellphones ought to be banned, then shouldn't putting make up also be outlawed? We open the door to new laws that keep people from eating in their vehicles, which could lead to the banning of fast food drive thrus. Is it an exxageration?

Think about this, in the last twenty years, we went from taking cigerette machines out of public buildings because minors could buy smokes, to laws outlawing cigerette smoking anywhere but in ones home. If you can't smoke in your car, why should you have permission to do anything else but to drive?

Maybe the majority of people approve of such laws, but each new law only tightens the noose around freedom's neck. Eventually that noose becomes so tight that freedom ceases to be, and becomes a forgotten relic of the past. Freedom takes on a new meaning, a freedom from fear, from death, from suffering, but in the end, only leads to more fear, more death, and even greater suffering. Or as I like to say, if you want government to curb your fear of your neighbor, not only will you still fear your neighbor, but you'll fear your government too.

Post Script.. I never ask for comments, but I do want to hear your comments on what you think the proper role of government is.

My Christmas Wish List

Now that Thanksgiving has passed, it's time to focus on the next great Holiday. That's right, Christmas. Even, as GM called, a curmedgeon such as myself must enjoy Christmas, right? Bah Humbug. You think I'm going to change my style and start wishing Merry Christmas for the final days of this year? When am I ever a super benevolent guy?

Still, it won't hurt to try to get into the Christmas spirit so today I'm going to give you my Christmas Wish List.

I wish that I can go to the store this year without seeing a fellow customer get pissy with the help. I'm a polemic guy, but even I know how silly it is to yell at the clerk who's checking me out. Does anybody really believe that it helps matters to yell out the clerk when they have sixteen people in front of them? Do you really think I want to hear it as a fellow customer? And, if your words cause that clerk to walk off the job, and I have to wait any longer, you and me is gonna have some words out in the parkin lot buddy.

And to do this at a fast food establishment, are you trying to get special sauce on your sandwich?

I know Christmas Wish lists are supposed to be imaginative, yet achievable, but pretend I'm wishing for peace on earth. Suddenly my Christmas Wish List isn't so obscure, is it? However, since I am being unrealistic, let's include other things that ain't gonna happen.

How bout we start with the United States Constitution. Since we all love the U.S. Constitution so much, I wish this Christmas that everybody takes a few minutes out of their day and read it. It seems to me that people are writing the constitution to meet their own selfish desires. Free speech often is interpretted to say that I get to say whatever I want without any consequences, but that I have the right to shut anybody up that disagrees with me.

We think we have a Right to be happy, folks, it's the Right to pursuit happiness, a right which belongs to everybody and not just you. It does not give you the right to use government entities to legislate limitations on other people so you can be happier. This Christmas, I wish people would think a little more of the people around them before they do something to make them miserable in order to be happier.

And Speekun of legislating limitations on other people in order to make one happy, why is it that everything we don't like, every thing we think a danger, we feel we must regulate through government? If men can not be self governing, how can we ever expect them to govern others?

Life was meant to be lived, not to avoid death. Go live it, it's an adventure, with twist and turns. The prospect of death only makes it more exhilirating. Say what you got to say, do what you got to do, but don't think that you have a right not to die.

I'd like to add to my wish list drivers who block intersections. Holy smokes man, how much quicker do you think you are going to get home by stopping ten feet closer to the stop light?

I wish that people would have a little more respect for each other this Christmas season.

I wish this Christmas that I can be with the one person who means the most to me. I wish this Christmas I can be with my wife. I often take her for granted, but there is not one single person who has been with me through my toughest trials as she has. There aren't many people that are strong enough to tolerate me, and I'm very fortunate to have found her.

I wish I have more time this Christmas. It seems that each passing Christmas only gets more demanding while the time only goes by quicker. It's the most wonderful time of the year, I wish I can enjoy it more this time.

I wish to avoid politics this Christmas, especially now that the Democrats are in power. And how is it possible that the more I try to avoid politics, the more likely I'm going to get into a political discussion? How is that possible? Am I some political magnet? I mean, I can talk to a complete stranger, and somehow, they just start talking politics with me. I know, it's my fault, even when it ain't.

Which is probably a good time to talk about personal responsibilty. When I was a teenager, I took the responsibility for something that I did not do. In fact, the actual culprit blamed me. For personal reasons I took the blame and the culprit, who at the time I considered a friend, left me high and dry. I learned a great lesson from that. Several in fact, but the one lesson that I want to point out is that even when you are not at fault, take full responsibility. I suffered the consequences of somebody else's actions, but in the end, it prepared me for the future. Leadership means you are responsible for actions beyond your control.

Ah, but I ought to get back to my Christmas Wish List...

I wish for peace in each one of your hearts. It's a lot easier to be at peace with yourself, than to seek peace on earth. It also makes the world a much better place.

I wish this post had as much sarcasm as I originally intended. Bah Humbug.

Most of all, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year this year.

What I'm Not Thankful For

I know I'm supposed to write about what I'm thankful for, but what difference does it make to anybody what I am thankful for when there are plenty of things that I'm not thankful for? Don't get me wrong, I'm a happy camper, I love life. Overall, I approve of the direction that my life is going. On the other hand, I'd like my life to be better. I could sit around and be happy that things are how they are, or I can continuously strive for the betterment of it. Yeah, I can be happy now, but I'd much rather pursue happiness.

My first thing I am unthankful for are these emails that I get telling me that if I forward this to my friends I will receive a special call at 11:21 at night, or I'll have five years bad luck. You know the drill, I mean we all get them, and you probably forward them.

Quite frankly, why in the fire and brimstone would you send me something that says that? First of all, I have me one of them thar Jay Oh Bee's. I have to get up in the morning. For those of you who don't know what a Jay Oh Bee is, it's where the rest of us are at instead of sitting around the house eating Bon Bon's, watching Oprah, while waiting for our government paycheck for being a Professional Daytime Talkshow Analyst. It's what the rest of us do to build our self pride, our dignity, and what we do to support your lazy... assuming that you even have the energy to sit up long enough to read this.

So why do you think it's a good thing that I get a call at 11:30 at night? Isn't that like, past my bedtime? Do you want me to get a phone call that late? Do you really want me to go to work tired and red-eyed because I forwarded on your email? Screw that...

And what makes your message so important that you'd actually curse me with years of bad luck? Cripes folks, I have enough problems without you sending me more bad luck. As many of those emails that I received and never forwarded on, I might as well file for what? Luckruptcy? What in the fire and brimstone would you call it? I mean, I'm doomed. Thanks a lot people for sending me thousands of years of bad luck because I was kind enough to think of my friends first.

I'm not thankful for regrets. Well, I only have one, and it's really embarrassing. Okay, two regrets, which, the second ain't so embarrassing. I almost went into the military, during the Gulf War but by the time I went through MEPS, the war was over. Still, I regret not serving in the military. For those of you who do serve, has served, and will serve, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU.

I'm not thankful for the people who's self serving moral superiority think that they have a solution to everybody's problem and guess who get's to solve my problems for me? Government, always the government. Cripes people, if men can't be self governing, how can we ever expect them to govern others?

Holy smokes man, now they want to prohibit people from driving with a cellphone in their hand? What's next, no wives in the passenger seat? Yeah, you think it's funny, but seriously, try driving with a wife in the passenger seat, talk about a distraction. I guess for the time being it's still okay for me to change the radio station, while checking my laptop, shoving a Big Mac down my throat, and flipping the bird to the guy I just cut off. I just can't have a cellphone in my hand when I do it. I mean, we pay people to sit around and think of new laws like this? The guy ought to be fired and his position done away with. Now we aren't just talking about any genious here, we are talking about a guy who wants an unenforceable law on the books. By the way, despite an increase in the population and cellphones becoming a daily part of our lives, traffic fatalities have been on the decline since 1986 and reached a 15 year high in 2005.

I'm not thankful for the people who stole headlines with hurricane assistance mis-spending. Using money to get a sex change? Come on, get your hungry boyfriend to bite it off and save the rest of us the money.

This past week, we found out that a couple of Katrina Evacuees made the rest of Louisiana proud when they went to Memphis, TN and asked a church to help them out. The church responded by giving the couple a $75,000 home, paid for. In return, the couple showed their appreciation by selling the house for $88,000. They are unrepentant of their actions.

There is story after story of these people who have taken advantage of the kindness of the way America has opened their hearts. Let's see if America is so generous the next time around.

I'm not thankful for the quasi-Republicans that we sent up to Washington on our behalf. What's with this Republican ideology that we stand for "Less Taxes OR Less Government"? I'm a Republican because I firmly believe in "Less Taxes AND Less Government". I believe that taxes ought to be lower, yes, that's fine and dandy. I also believe that government ought not be responsible in preventing me from dying. I don't care about the second hand smoke, the guy with a cellphone, or super fat deep fryers.

Believe it our not, God gave me legs. If I want to avoid the smoker, I can walk away from him. I love having my cellphone in my car, and if I see you in an accident, I'll probably use it to call for help for you, unless of course, you don't want me too.

As for the transfat or whatever the new thing that the health police are trying to save us from, it's my choice. I've long felt that McDonald's ought to place a ten foot mirror in all their restaurants with a disclaimer in large letters that states "If the object in the mirror appears too large, please try our salads".

Really, is it really too much to ask people not to blame McDonald's for getting fat? Are you really so stupid that you are surprised you get fat after eating McDonald's everyday? And why is it the government's responsibility to keep you from getting fat, especially when you are sitting in front of the television the rest of the day eating Bon Bon's, watching Oprah, waiting for a check from the government because you are a professional daytime talkshow analyst? Get some exercise man, you won't be so damn obese.

Speakun of obesity and government protecting us from everything, don't you think it's time we outlawed obese people in bikinis? I mean, I have a right not to go blind because some super duper chubster decided to show me they have more than two breasts on their front side and a cottage cheese factory in their legs. In fact, studies show that people who drive home after witnessing such a sight are as dangerous as a person who drives while being intoxicated at twice the legal limit.

Happy Thankgiving and too all buenas noches.
