RNC convention Poll numbers...
You see, every single time I fall in line with the Republicans, they go and irritate me again. Today it's the Bush campaign once more and their damn complaints to the FEC. I understand the Bush administrations position on this subject after all they are being out spent 4 to 1 and getting brutalized but so what? Who cares what the fringe left says? Trust the people.
Believe it or not, the people understand what truth is, even when irrational people refuse to see the truth. Think about this, as I say these words you may not believe that the majority of people understand truth. But aren't you also convinced that you, yourself, understands the truth when you hear it? At least you like to think you do.
Are you so much better than the common man that you understand the truth when they don't? Perhaps it us, we, the politicos who refuse to understand the truth when we hear because we are more interested in partisan politics. Maybe that's exactly what politicians depend on, maybe they depend on political blindness because if the truth about them was known it would destroy their career.
Maybe that is Senator Kerry's problem. Is it his reason to shut down criticism of him because there is truth in what the Swift Boat Veterans say? Is there little doubt in Propaganda 911's inneffectiveness to bring down the Bush administration has everything to do with it's disingenuousness? Wouldn't a 90 minute movie of "truth" do more damage to a candidates standing amongst the people than a 30 second commercial of lies? Wouldn't it impact you, a rational thinker? Are you that superior to your fellow man?
So despite being outnumbered in 527 cash, the Bush administration is winning out, not because money matters, but because truth matters. It matters to each one of us. It matters to the people. It matters because in the end truth always wins out.
So why is the Bush administration so anxious to silence the 527's? Perhaps, like Kerry, this administration has something to fear. Sooner or later, the truth will come out.
-------------------------------------------
I also have some other comments I would like to express.... for example in our local mayors race... every candidate wants to give the police a raise, but not one single one of them wants to discuss solutions to decreasing the crime rate.
Something else I want to express, I know that many of my conservative colleagues probably get annoyed with my passion over my beliefs. But it is that passion, it is my expression of my beliefs that keep them alive. If I sat back in silence, my beliefs would die. If we as conservatives sit back in silence and excuse the trampling of our beliefs in the name of Republicanism, or in order to keep liberalism out, then we've already lost the battle. One of the great quotes, and one that I live by was said by Edmund Burke.
"The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."

What I fear from the Republicans
Tonight I am passing up the Republican convention, one reason is because I fear I will wake up in the morning and switch parties. The second is that I can watch a movie tonight instead. Most people who know me would be suprised that I forego politics even one night.
But what I fear from the Republican Convention is a more Democrat than thou attitude. It seems to me that the party that I once believed had the answers now seems to be a mirror image of it's supposed opposition without the lunatics. Level headed Democrats should now vote Republican while the extremist wackos should be loyal Democrats.
What the two parties now believe almost parrots each other. They both parade their conservatism around when in the public eye, yet promise and boast how they can make government bigger than the other party.
I fear that over the next three days, that my party, instead of speaking of smaller government, will instead boast how government spends more on this program or that government program that enslaves the poor and calling it compassionate.
I fear that my party, what once was a middle America party, now thinks that it can win liberals by appeasing each liberal scream and forgetting it's base. Like minorities in the Democrat party, conservatives are being taken for granted by the new Republican party. However, unlike minorities in the Democrat party, there is no face up on that New York stage that represents my view.
I understand that this is a big tent party. I accept moderates and even liberals in the party. I accept Ron Silver, who bashed Republicans for years, into our party. I accept Mayor Bloomberg, who set forth antismoking laws, much like they had in Nazi Germany, into our party. And I accept John McCain, who believes speech belongs to people of priviledge.
I can even accept my party, looking to appease liberals, making San Francisco the home of the 2008 Republican National Convention. They could use the theme "Republican P
R
I
D
E
!". Just think how many liberals we can win over, especially if we cover up the conservative face. Don't let Gary Bauer, Rush Limbaugh, Alan Keyes, or any other conservative speak at the convention. Purple is okay as long as it's on a flag, but don't dare pass out Purple heart bandaids at the convention.
Why allow this man back into the convention?

Oh he's not a conservative. Thanks WizBang
The problem isn't that conservatives aren't accepting liberals and moderates, the problem is, there is no place at the table for conservatives anymore. The party wants to go back to the days they played second fiddle to the Democrats. Republicans practice it now and they are in control of things.
I can forgive the party for forgetting the conservative face at the convention, after all, it's just politics. I just hope the moderates and liberals don't rub it in while they have every time slot on stage. Don't tell me how my values have been completely forgotten by the party.
Also, softvote reports that over 22,000 people have downloaded their software. Compare that to 400 people polled, or 1,000 people polled. Who do you believe 400 people or 22,000 people?

Thoughts on Monday's convention
Courage is not the absence of fear, it doing something in spite of fear.
Heroism is doing something, not for the publicity, nor any other accolade, it's doing something because you have too, because your character dictates it so.
One of the things that I thought of tonight as speaker after speaker came to the podium was what true courage and heroism is. These guys did what they did, not because they wanted to make a political career out of it. Heroes commit acts of courage, bravery, and valor because their character dictates it so, they do it because running is not an option. They do things that go beyond the call of duty, they do it because they have too. They don't consider theirselves heroes, they let others call them that. To them, you would have done the same thing.
McCain clearly had the best line of the night when he laid this gem about Mythical Moore..."And certainly not a disingenuous film maker who would have us believe that Saddam's Iraq was an oasis of peace when in fact it was a place of indescribable cruelty, torture chambers, mass graves and prisons that destroyed the lives of the small children held inside their walls."
 Mythical Moore orders more cheeseburgers
Poor Mythical Moore, he even made an L out of his hand so that everybody could see an L on his face. Yeah, I know, he meant to call Republicans "losers". Still, it's not the GOP who is going to spend another 4 years on the outside of the Oval Office.
And Rudae! Ruudae! nicely and aptly pointed out that Kerry switches issues more often than we most of us can keep up with. I also liked the comparison to Churchill and Reagan in the respect of how their opposition treated them.
Conviction - Yeah, I could believe the speakers. Every one of those speakers seemed to be speaking from the heart. I didn't get that feeling while watching the other guys at the other convention.
Respect - For the victims and families of 9-11.
Respect - For the soldiers who are fighting.
Respect - For God and religion. One of the things that I was watching for was at the end of each night. At the Democrat convention, during the closing prayers, most delegates walked out during the closing prayers. I was offended but expected the same from the Republican delegates. Tonight, I noticed that very few delegates were walking out during the closing prayer. It didn't matter what religion it was, it was the respect for it, or lack thereof. Thank you RNC delegates for your respect.
Credit - instead of boasting of the heroism of Bush, they focused on the heroism of more recent heroes.
Tomorrow night the Passion of Christ is out on DVD. I will be buying it and unfortunately won't be doing much blogging tomorrow night. I am going to sit down and watch it, however, I might pause it if I can hear Rnold say "Gurlie man"
Anyway, I will be on long enough to update the poll numbers so you folks can see if the numbers have changed for the better, or worse....
One more thought, the Delegates should, when passing the protestors, "My Gawd, look at your face. What officer brutalized you?" ----Jeffery
See ya then....

RNC Convention -- opening thoughts opening polls
As I sit here and listen to liberals speak to what has become the not-as-socialist-as-the-Democrats Republican party, I wonder if they can convince me to stick with George W. Bush. As I went to work today, the thought continued to race through my mind that maybe it's time that I leave the Republican party behind.
This is not a joke to me, I left the Democrat party and registered Republican because of ideology, not because the Republicans moved to the left. I believed in limited government, states rights, rugged individualism, and the ability of each individual to exceed in their life far greater things than they expected.
I don't believe that people need a government ran healthcare system In fact, I believe that ever since government has gotten involved in the healthcare system, the cost skyrocketed. Had government never stuck their nose in, it would be affordable.
At least the Republicans agree with me on defense of nation and lower taxes, but outside of that, just exactly how does the party agree with me anymore? Did my views change so much that I am no longer a Republican? Did little ole me change my version of what conservatism was over the years? Did the Republican party forget what got them elected to begin with?
I fear that over the next four days that I, we, will be subjected to hear just how wonderful it is to be socialist. I fear that every speaker will boast of how much more money was allocated to this social program and how the government has gotten bigger and better. That thankfully because George W. Bush was elected, the government can change our diapers so well that we should scream praises of greatness.
Many of you are asking yourself, 'why stick with a party you aren't happy with?'
Had John Kerry not been the nomination, I would have left a long time ago. It may be time to leave the party, however, there is no way in H*** that I want Kerry to be president, but what difference does it make?
Yeah, I'm still ****** at the treatment the Swift Boat veterans recieved. Let's not forget Trent Lott, or how Bush stood by Clintons side during his impeachment. What fustrates me so much about Bush is that he doesn't seem to get that there is no compromising with liberals, they don't like him, they hate him, they will never adore him. All the time he panders to the extreme left wing, he forgets about all of us conservatives who voted for him. Yeah, I still have some left to vent but before I finish I will wat this convention closely.
As for the polls numbers, I do get these from Softvote which is internet based so the numbers may not reflect actual numbers and may also have a wide range of vacillation. However, I do find these numbers to be fairly consistent with other polls. If you so chose, you can check the numbers against other polls. I am only focusing on states that I show with a less than 10% differential for the RNC convention.

It must have been a conspiracy by the Bush administration to disenfranchise the youth vote....
Please vote for my daddy, and stop booing!
Perhaps these elitist will start learning, they don't represent the common man. This is amazing to see, especially as Juice News Daily reports it's suprise because of Viacoms and MTV's liberalism. I think I will stay up a little late tonight just to watch it in replay. Too classic, maybe next time Alex will wear her see through dress again.

I was originally going to words penned by William Shakespeare for this weeks BrainBullet. Those famous words were "This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man." Instead of using it as the quote, I decided to use it as today's subject.
I did two polls earlier this week and I was hoping to make people see their own hypocrisy. Sure you could answer it any way you wanted, a person could choose to vote in one poll and not in the other. One could call their self a right-winger or a left winger even though they are not. In fact, you can hear those people calling in radio talk shows, acting like independents even though they have already chosen a side long before that call. They do this on message boards, they do it in emails, they do this because they can't convince anybody without deception.
I've seen more bumper stickers that simply stated "Vietnam Veteran" this year than I think I've ever seen before. Not to diminish those who served, but if one didn't, don't insult the courage of those who did by claiming that you did too.
The other day, a person told me that her friend called her up and asked her if she was watching some channel. The person claimed that Bush said his favorite bible verse was John 16:3 and that he meant to day John 3:16. John 16:3 which says "And they will do this because they have not known the Father nor Me.". I told the person that I heard the same thing about ALGORE 4 years ago. What she was saying just simply was not true. Yet she insisted it was, even though she did not hear the president say it.
I also heard the story again this week when Rodger Hedgecock was filling in for Rush Limbaugh. Mr. Hedgecock read an email that claimed John Kerry said John 16:3. I don't think anybody corrected him. A google search on the same subject shows that shows how widespread it is.
But what people have ignored is the misquotation of John 16:3. John 16:3 is a continuation of verse 1 and 2. For your reading you can read 16:3 by clicking here. Read it and make a judgement for yourself.
Another person told me directly that Bush said the "N word" just last week. When pressed for the exact Bush quote the person could not deliver. This is being said in black neighborhoods in order to keep the black vote Democratic. Are Democrat policies so empty when it comes to helping minorities that they have to resort to claiming that Republicans are racist? The 'Don't vote for us because we help you, vote for us because Republicans are racist.' mentality might get the black vote but it does not help end racism.
And what good does it do to stand against racism only half of the time? What good does it do when a sharp eye is kept on Republicans but not on Democrats or vice versa? What good does it do to support our troops and then vote for a party which cuts military spending. What good does it do voting Republican to defend the Right to bear arms and he surrenders those values? What good does it do to stand up for Rights only when they affect you? What good does it do to vote Democrat and your guy moves to the Right. What have you won when you vote Republican and when in office acts like a socialist?
What have we done, what have we accomplished? We have a society in which half the public is ready to surrender their freedom if one party does it, and the other half willing to do so as long as it's the other party to do it. Can you honestly look in the mirror and tell your self that our country is as free as it was 30 years ago?
I understand that 9-11 has happened and though I excuse partial infringements as a temporary solution, I don't expect those freedoms to ever return. Our society has forgotten that the politicians who have power to make law also have the same power to repeal them. Those politicians who are so anxious to put new restrictions on people are much slower when it comes to returning freedom to the people.
I have forgotten just how disappointed I was in this president until Thursday. Does this guy ever concern himself with what we on the right actually think? What good does it do to vote for Bush when all he seems to do is pass a socialist laws? Maybe I ought to vote for Kerry so the Republicans can put up a real conservative in 2008, but I fear the party would be convinced we would have to go even further to the left if I do.
As for the time being, I will vote for Bush, but the question is can he keep my vote until November 2. In the meantime I will continue to Poliblog
P.S. I am going to try to do something every so often, is to put a link to another blog in my post. It seems kind of fun to work it into a post. BrainBullet

Infuriated in the morning.
John Kerry is determined that I vote for George W. Bush. George W. Bush is determined that I vote for someone else.
I decided to watch some news while getting ready for work early this morning. It was just another day, nothing unusual about it. But what I saw flash across that screen made me madder than Mad Anthony, more furious than a Furious Libertarian, and more flushed than a Pink Monkey Bird. Once again this administration has shown that it does not appreciate the people who worked to get him elected, opting to be friendly with the opposition instead.
Today the President made comments about "Shadowy 527" organizations calling on legal action against them. Apparently Bush, Kerry, and McCain don't like certain 527's. However, it was the McCain sponsered, Kerry yea vote, and Bush signature that made it law for 527's to exist. Now they don't like the end result of their own bill? Perhaps Bush, Kerry, and McCain should have thought about it before they foisted a bill onto us, even though it didn't have public support.
When the Swift Boat Veterans formed, they did so trying to following the guidelines of the McCain-Fiengold bill. Now these politicians are trying to silence this 527? If these politicians don't like the law, why the hell did these three approve of it to begin with?
It seems as if Bush, Kerry and McCain meant 527's to have free speech as long as the certain priviledged class approves of it. Free speech exists, it just has to get the approval of these three first.
It doesn't matter what your political beliefs are, the battle lines are drawn, the assault on free speech has begun, and your free speech is on the line. Regardless of your political ties, it's time to stand up. what happens with the 527's, happens to you.

By now you have heard that the War Criminal's own diary refutes his first purple heart claim. This is major news that is making major media.
In other major news, President George W Bush has joined in with John Kerry in his demand that anti-Kerry 527 organizations stop exercising the right to free speech. Though George W. Bush proudly acknowledges that he supports the infringement of free speech for all, John Kerry only wants free speech to be denied for those who oppose him. No word yet whether the law applies to the the 527's which spend 80 percent of the 527 money.
More major news, John Kerry still refuses to resign his current position in Washington as he plans to return to the Senate. But while the biased press is reporting this over and over, they are ignoring that the war criminal has asked Donald Rumsfield to resign again for war crimes committed by subordinates. Judging from an earlier testimony by John Kerry about his subordinates committing war crimes, we can only assume that he is upset that the soldiers did not turn up the power to the phone lines connected to the genitals. Had the soldiers done that, they'd be qualified to run for the presidency.

Word has it that 9 days after John Kerry earned his first Purple heart, he wrote in his journal that he had yet to see enemy fire.
Sent In-- by Larry Joubert During a campaign tour of the Apache Nation Wednesday, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry said he had a plan to increase every Native American's income by $40,000 a year. Senator Kerry refused repeated requests for details of his plan, however. He also told the Apaches that during his Senate career, he has voted YES 9,637 for every Indian issue ever introduced.
Before his departure, the Apache Tribe presented the Presidential candidate a plaque inscribed with his new Indian name, Running Eagle.
After Kerry left, tribal officials explained that Running Eagle is a bird so full of crap it can't fly.
