What Blanco Didn't Know and When She Didn't Know It.

In light of how the MSM brought to our attention that the Bush administration clearly knew that the levee could have been breached because the video said that the levee could be topped, even though breached and topped are not the same thing, but somehow the press doesn't understand that, then obviously we can expect the MSM to make sure that every United States citizen understands that Kathleen Blanco told the Bush administration the day that the levee was breached three hours after the levee was breached, that the levee was not breached but instead was topped.

Now that's a Bill Clinton type of long winded sentence.

Read the story

WASHINGTON - In the hectic, confused hours after Hurricane Katrina lashed the Gulf Coast, Louisiana's governor hesitantly but mistakenly assured the Bush administration that New Orleans' protective levees were intact, according to new video obtained by The Associated Press showing briefings that day with federal officials.

"We keep getting reports in some places that maybe water is coming over the levees," Gov. Kathleen Blanco said shortly after noon on Aug. 29, according to the video. "We heard a report unconfirmed, I think, we have not breached the levee. I think we have not breached the levee at this time."

In fact, the National Weather Service received a report of a levee breach and issued a flash-flood warning as early as 9:12 a.m. that day, according to the White House's formal recounting of events the day Katrina struck.

Oops. Ben Franklin is quoted as saying "A lie gets half way around the world before the truth gets a chance to put its pants on." Hitler was quoted as saying "The bigger the lie, the more people will believe it."

Look around, they both are right.

Compassionate Liberals

Rosie O'Donnel is at it again, this time she's "concerned" because there is only one basketball court in 'Blanco village- Baker'. They actually call it "Renaissance Village". Where does govmint come up with these names? It's like a universal rule, whenever a neighborhood sounds nice, it's probably a good idea to stay oughta there.

So Rosie O'Donut is upset that "Renaissance Village" only has the one basketball court. Sheesh, you'd think that those people in the Blanco Village would be concerned about getting back on their feet, getting a job, moving out on their own, rebuilding their life. Rosie O'donut thinks differently than you or I. She figures 'well, give them a basketball and they'd be happy.'

Nagin rides a 'chocolate' horse with white frosting named 'vanilla', wasn't that compassionate of him?

One thing that I notice about liberals over and over again, is their definition of compassion. Liberals believe they are the most compassionate people on earth, and by judging their own compassion, make ill-advised assumptions of their fellow man. They believe the rest of the world is evil, and if only the rest of us were nicer, like they are, the world would be a better place.

What liberals don't get is that the majority of people are inherently good, that people wish to help their fellow man, people are naturally compassionate. However, compassion does not mean stupidity.

Compassion means disciplining your child, not blaming society.

Compassion means helping people earn their own way, not giving them a bigger welfare check.

Compassion means helping people in need, not pawning your responsibility to help your fellow man off onto the government.

Compassion means pushing children to do better, to learn more, not feeling sorry for children that fail in school.

Compassion means punishing criminals, not protesting the death penalty

Compassion means helping others, not demanding others help you.

Compassion means giving your own time money, not demanding that other (rich) people give.

Compassion means helping those that help theirselves, not helping people achieving nothing to achieve even less.

Compassion means standing for what's right, not part of the time, all the time

Compassion is helping people achieve their best, not encouraging them to destroy their lives.

Compassion isn't that hard to figure out. Compassion is firing one of your employees because they are so inept, they become a burden to the team you lead. Why should your best employees work harder because one doesn't wish to work at all, while somebody who wants to work is without a job? Compassion, when used properly, makes the world a better place.

Why is this so hard for liberals to figure out?

CBS Poll -Bush at All Time Low

CBS is reporting their latest poll numbers, and Bush sits at 32% approval.

See: Bush Ratings At All-Time Low

(CBS) The latest CBS News poll finds President Bush's approval rating has fallen to an all-time low of 34 percent, while pessimism about the Iraq war has risen to a new high.

Americans are also overwhelmingly opposed to the Bush-backed deal giving a Dubai-owned company operational control over six major U.S. ports. Seven in 10 Americans, including 58 percent of Republicans, say they're opposed to the agreemen

This, believe it or not is good news. Both for Dubai Ports and Republicans in general. This poll gives the Democrats a false sense of security. The only thing that has permanantly hurt Bush is the handling of Hurricane Katrina, and the people that it affected the most, primarily blame their governor. Kathleen may have put a dent in Bush's armor, but at what expense?

She expects the nation to blame Bush and yet feel sorry for her for being overwhelmed? How can she be the only person to be 'overwhelmed' and still be mad at everybody else for not doing their job? She didn't do hers. People in Louisiana and Mississippi understand for the most part that the government could do only so much. People outside the gulf coast don't understand, but they also haven't seen the devastation. Pictures just don't do it justice.

For those that it didn't affect, Katrina was a far away land that you might have sent money too. You can think whatever you want about how the politicians acted down here, but seriously ask yourself, will it affect your vote in the upcoming election? If you say yes, you're lying. If you blame Blanco or Nagin, and you aren't in the gulf coast, you are Republican. If you blame Bush, and not down here, you are a Democrat.

You might think lower of Bush, but it's not changing your vote. Giving Democrats a false sense of security.

And the Dubai ports deal? This is good news for the Dubai Ports to keep this in the news. If the issue gets dropped, Republicans run the risk that people will shift their trust in security to the Democrats. Today's results don't matter, but the long term effect that this issue has does. People aren't deciding elections today, their deciding it 8 months from now. Everybody might be upset at it now, but nobody can explain why it's a security risk.

I think Democrats will keep the Dubai Ports deal an issue for the next week and that can only mean great news for Dubai Ports and the Republicans because it keeps it in the news. This gives people the opportunity to learn more about it and the more they learn, the better it is for Bush.

In the end, the Dubai Ports deal will hurt the Democrats.

To those of you that want to tell me how wrong I am, please, before you leave a comment, explain exactly why the ports deal is bad for America....

Sermon VI

This weeks Sermon is about the Ports, of course, and the Arabic invasion. Can you believe that Arabic people are coming to America? This is shocking news! I'm willing to bet they even eat food. Any way, Chucky Schumer spreads fear at the liberal church and it can be found at Flight Pundit

I have to admit, I wonder if people catch the humor in the "liberal church". I know we should take liberals seriously, but I can't anymore. It finally got to a point that I started looking at liberalism as a religion and suddenly liberals begin to make a whole lot more sense. Try it, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Their as radical about their political beliefs as much as some people take their religious beliefs.

There are real points to the liberal church, such as pointing out that liberals use things such as funerals to slam Republicans. Also, to take liberalism and exxagerate their beliefs just enough so people won't believe it, and yet keep it believable. I don't know if I achieve this, but hopefully I'm getting better at it.

How Chucky Duped the Right

When I first read the news that UAE was taking over security of the ports, I didn't pay much attention. After all, why should I? It was Chucky Schumer and who trusts anything that Chucky Schumer says, especially when it comes to the national defense? In fact, Chucky Schumer is so untrustworthy, in order to give himself any credibility on the issue, he had to stand next to "a lifelong Republican" Peter Gadiel.

Anytime I see a person say "I am a lifelong Republican" while standing alongside and with a Democrat, I get suspicious. Something is not right with the picture and not that a Republican supports a Democrat idea, but how far up the Democratic ranks he flew as a "lifelong Republican". It's a bandwagon trick, much like how both parties love polls when they agree with them, but dismiss their value when they don't.

So is Peter Gadiel really a Republican? Well in 1998 and 2000 he gave the RNC $200, but according to Open Secrets has not given since. He also heads up "9-11 Families for a Secure America", which many of you will remember those upset wives of 9-11 that endorsed Kerry? Yeah, Peter Gadiel heads that same group.

But what's this whole deal really about? UAE got a deal for control over our port security? Are we really turning control over to the United Arab Emirates? Is Bush outsourcing jobs? Is the UAE just another Taliban or Hamas? Where was Peter Gadiel when the British had it prior to the UAE? Would Chucky Schumer be opposed to the Venezuela having the same control?

Fact of the matter is, this isn't about ports, it's about terminals. A London-based company Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation, also known as P&O, was recently bought out by Dubai Ports World. P&O had a lease to handle cargo operations at 6 US seaports. They also have two ports in Britain, one in Australia and many others in Southeast Asia. What changed is that Dubai Ports took over the exact same thing that P&O had. Nothing's changed only the ownership.

What does the lease entail? Dubai Ports rents terminals in 6 ports in the United States. They have a garuntee to access terminals so that they can ship their products here. It's much like when Continental Airlines, Southwest Airlines, or American Airlines leases terminals from Airports. Are they in control of security?

This knee-jerk reaction by the American public, led by Chucky, and aided by the press has nothing to do with security. The UAE, as part of their lease agreement, pays for security at those terminals. The security is still controlled within the United States, and ships are still unloaded by IL&W union. Unless you feel that the Union is suddenly a threat now that the UAE has the lease, there is absolutely no reason to oppose this. As for the Newsmax story about Nuclear reactors and the UAE, Dubai Ports has absolutely no authority to access the terminals where nuclear reactors are transported from.

To deny Dubai Ports this because of their Arabic heritage is unfounded racism. The UAE is not a threat nor hostile enemy of the United States. In fact, during the hurricane Katrina aftermath, the UAE gave four times as much as any other country. Are you paying attention Governor Blanco and Senator Landrieu? They were there for us when we needed them. This is a country that gives our military access to their ports. Are they supposed to continue to give us lease agreements to their ports when we would deny them access to ours? We put our military there, yet they can't do business here?

And if this is about foriegn countries, then are we to deny all foriegn based countries lease agreements? Economically it would hinder our country. World wide, we'd appear to be isolationist. As for security, won't countries in turn deny us the same and no longer allow us to lease ports for military purposes?

For those of you who are going off the wall about this whole port security deal, I suggest you do more than research why 'Bush is wrong' and do your research into why Bush is right about this deal. More over, where is your head? Use common sense. Do you really believe, whether or not you like the President, that President Bush would risk the security of the United States? My concern isn't that he's too laxed, but rather if he would go overboard.

Artist Gets Jail Sentence

Liberals call it art, I call it a masterpiece, in Germany, they call it illegal. Man jailed for historical masterpiece

Manfred van H. printed out sheets of toilet paper bearing the word "Koran" shortly after a group of Muslims carried out a series of bomb attacks in London in July 2005. He sent the paper to German television stations, magazines and some 15 mosques.

Prosecutors said that in an accompanying letter Manfred van H. called Islam's holy book a "cookbook for terrorists."

He also offered his toilet paper for sale on the Internet at a price of 4 euros ($4.76) per roll, saying the proceeds would go toward a "memorial to all the victims of Islamic terrorism."

Oh those poor liberals, what will they ever do? They can no longer go to Germany after they stick a crucifix in a jar of urine. No more can they smear excretion onto the Virgin Mary then visit Austria. Oh those poor liberals, they can no longer insult a religion and call it art... poor folks.

Oh I'm sorry, freedom only applies to American Liberals.

Conclusion of Port Security

I finally made up my mind about Port Security, and a Leftist Libertarian is the guy that convinced me. When I asked a general question why we should oppose it, Knappster stepped up to the plate and delivered. Brilliant! Yes, it's for National Security and President Bush is doing the right thing! It's not a matter of standing for the President or against him, I just believe that this is the right to gaining security in the Middle East.

Gun Control Works!

Especially when you use both hands. When a Baton Rouge Police officer pulled over a black Mercedes, he had no idea what he walked into. While working a funeral, a car pulled into the funeral procession and officer Brian Harrison pulled the Mercedes over. The driver was on probation and had a hand gun on him. It eventually led to a heated argument until the driver attacked officer Brian Harrison.

Related Story

George Temple II had Officer Harrison down and out reportedly saying "I told you I'm a beast" while Officer Harrison yelled for help. Fortunately Perry Stephens was wearing a neck brace that kept his head focused and his arms held the gun right. He was a beast, now he's just dead.

Man booked on 117 counts of fraud

This has got to be some kind of record. It's amazing some of the things you see in Louisiana. It's a full time job to keep up with all the news stories.

Pride and Prejudice?

I admit, I haven't heard any great reason why we selected a Arab state owned company to run our port security. In fact, I'm not even sure we should be that concerned with port security. Why would terrorist hide in on ships when they can enter the United States through our borders? It's much easier for an Islamic terrorist to mix in with the Latino community as they cross over the border.

So to me, our land-locked borders are much more importnat that our ports.

I get the feeling that the reason most people are opposed to this has little to do with Dubai, but more so with our pride and prejudices. I believe the opposition to Dubai running our port security has nothing to do with Dubai, but everything to do with their race.

Somebody please give me reason, not prejudices, why Dubai should not have control over our port security.

Great News for non-Louisiana residents

You aren't driving on the worst road in America,we are.
Even better news, your state probably isn't the worst state, only Pennsylvania and Missouri have worse roads than we do.

Mitch Landrieu

Announced his bid to be the milk in the chocolate city. Headlines in tomorrows paper should be Mitch Vows to Restore Father's Crooked Ways in Nawlins, but no word yet whether or not the Lt. Governor will step down from his currnet position so that Louisiana can have a full time Lt. Governor. Lord knows this state needs somebody ready to go. Question is, how serious is Mitch Landrieu? If he wants to win, shouldn't he step down as Lt. Governor? If he wants to be Lt. Governor, why is he in this race?

Mary Landrieu supported Mitch Landrieu, as if the people in this state needed anymore reason to not like this lady.

Mike Francis

announced his candidacy for Secretary of State. Lord knows that we need somebody to over see the elections and we can't trust Venezuela Al Ater.

Port of Insecurity?

I got an email from Raven at "And Rightly So saying say it isn't so. At first glance I would agree, why on earth would we turn our port security over to terrorist friendly organizations but, once I saw the Democrats were opposed to this chills ran up my spine.

Seiously, could I actually be agreeing with Democrats on this? Could it possibly be that Democrats are actually right? It's been my experience that whenever I agree with Democrats, it turns out that I was wrong for agreeing with them.

Think about it folks, when was the last time that Democrats, on the whole, actually stood up for the right thing in America? Think hard, name one thing where Democrats have put America first above all? It's a universal rule, no matter how good something is for this country, Democrats will point to another country and say their's is better. Canada's healthcare is better, Rwanda was a better war than Iraq, even the dictator Hugo Chavez is a better "president" than George W. Bush. Europe's gas prices are better than ours, French people know how to fight a war, even though they can't win one. When have Democrats ever stood for the right thing for America?

On the other hand, Jimmy Carter supports George Bush's plan. This can only mean one of two things, either it's a horrible plan because Jimmy Carter supports it, or it's a great thing and Jimmy Carter has finally realized that nobody respects his opinion and he's trying to undermine Bush's plan by supporting it.

Fact of the matter is, most Democrats are opposed to this, which can mean only one thing, the plan is good for America. I say take a closer look, if it was really bad for America, Democrats would be praising it.

Austria has banned free speech

Can you believe that a man jailed for being a non-believer? I don't believe Pittsburgh really won the superbowl, should I go to jail? Well, If you don't believe this article, Austrians might just through you in jail for not believing they throw people in jail. Do we really want to follow the rest of the world? Do we really want to follow their lead?

And finally, with the "Liberal church" on the road, I want to clarify why I am doing it. Since Hurricane Katrina, I've had a very difficult time taking Democrats seriously. Well, to be truthful, I was onhaving a hard time taking Democrats seriously before that, but whatever respect for the party I had left, was lost after the hurricanes.

Yes there are some decent Democrats out there, somewhere, but it doesn't seem to be the majority of them. It seems to me that the Democrats over at the Devil's playground represents what about 80-90% of the Democrat view.

There's also a problem in politics today, a cult like mentality that whoever one votes for is excused for murder while the guy you didn't vote for should be executed for passing gas the wrong way. The "liberal church" could easily have been a "conservative church", but I do think that there is a much bigger problem within the left wing of this nation. Liberals know a few things, Bush is worse than Hitler, they can't win elections so they need to overturn an election, and a yellow dog still is better than a Republican. Those three traits drive their every last belief.

Don't believe me? Go to their blogs, look at them, half of them have a strip in the upper corner that says, "we can't win an election, so we must overturn the people's will", the other half are calling him Hitler, and 95% of them are repeating what they saw their Democrat leaders saying on the television. Sure the same can be said about Republicans, but the Democrats are horrible with it.

22 years late

1984!

Is it just me or is big brother watching you? Not me, yet. After all, the city I live in does not have camera's all over the place, but in Chicago, Houston, and other cities, who knows when your on candid camera. New Orleans had the spy cameras but I think they got washed away a few months ago. Even if they did still exists, they didn't do what they were supposed to do. The only cameras that caught any crime was filmed by the media, not the police.

What's so amazing is the number of people that support this. I find it hard to believe that people love cameras watching their every public move, monitering the books they check out from the library, and scanning their conversations on the internet, but somehow get jittery when the government moniters their telephone calls to Islamic terrorist. Is there something wrong with this picture?

I don't get it, it makes as much sense to me as liberals crying about pictures of a prophet while praising a crucifix in a jar of urine as art. If liberals were consistent, and truly believed in freedom like they claim to, then they would be outraged over cameras.

What makes these cameras worse is that they want to put them in private businesses. I have absolutely no problem with businesses putting cameras to moniter their private property, but for government to come in a moniter it for them? Shouldn't places of business be considered an extension of ones home? It is, afterall, private property.

Will somebody answer this one question for me: What's the point of fighting for freedom if we're just going to surrender it to our government?

And Kathleen Blanco's poll numbers are at an all time low, which no longer matters unless she gets recalled. The way I see it, the only way we can remove the governor now is to recall her, now that the incumbent security and voter disenfranchisement bill has passed. You can now vote from anywhere in the United States, even if you never voted before in Louisiana. Now polls are great for incumbents, they tell them exactly how many out of state first time voters they need to win. I'm sure they'll be able to drum those votes up somehow, someway. Louisiana politicians used to have to summon dead people to vote. Now, they just need to look for people from other states that claim to be evacuees.

Our elections are a sham now. Nobody likes the governor, but I gurantee with the voter disenfranchisement and incumbent protection act now law, I garuntee Blanco will be Governor for the next 7 years. Louisiana - the Banana Republic.

Sermon V -- (Canceraid)

This week, the Fight On campaign travelled to the land of Ogre's Politics and Views. Please visit and help OGRE spread the word.

A Few Thoughts...

There aren't many things out there that are more agonizing than hitting every red light while 'Radar Love' plays on the radio.

Sometimes real power is not to be in a powerful position.

The desire for greatness often screws things up, but the desire for humility often leads to greatness.

The people that complain the most about how bad the world is, usually are the same ones that contribute the most to make the world a bad place.

Dealing with Democrats is like dealing with drunks and terrorists. The nicer you are with them, the more they try to take advantage of you and treat you harshly. The meaner you get with them, the nicer they will act towards you.
