The Libertarian Party of Louisiana is planning to announce a slew of candidates either today or tomorrow in a large amount of Louisiana races. These campaigns include the first, second, third and sixth congressional districts as well as Secretary of State and Insurance Commissionar.

It's interesting to see if the Libertarian Party can be effective enough to make a difference in this years election, possibly forcing a runoff between Bobby Jindal and Stacey Tullitsch in the first. This is highly doubtful as Bobby Jindal is highly expected to win and then make a run for the Governor, where many expect him to easily defeat the inept Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco.

Another race where I think the LP can make a difference is in the race for Louisiana Secretary of State, where rumors and venom seem to be the norm in that race. State Senator Jay Dardenne is expected to file for this race, though rumor is lying that he just might switch to Attorney General and pick up a $5,000 check for his race.

Along side Dardenne in the SoS race is former Republican state chairman Mike Francis who seems to be the favorite. The advantage that the Libertarian Party has in this race is both Mike Francis and Jay Dardenne seem to have their own enemies within the party that they developed over the years.

Jay Dardenne made a huge mistake in the past of months with his vote on abortion. Though the abortion vote has little to do with what the Secretary of State does, the fact that Jay Dardenne voted for abortion before he voted against puts him in a terrible position. His vote on abortion would not have impacted him in the race, but instead of standing on his views, went back and changed his vote to a pro-life position. It sent the wrong message that Jay Dardenne either lied about his position or he doesn't know how to vote correctly after all those years in Baton Rouge. The Secretary of State ought to be filled with a person of integrity, honesty, and the knowledge of how to vote. Either way, Jay Dardenne sent the wrong message to the voters.

On the other hand, Mike Francis seems to have built his share of enemies through the years as chairman of the State Republican Party and there are other minor issues such as a divorce that may turn people off. My bet is that people will understand the argument that he left his wife for his high school sweethart, but the long term enemies is his biggest downfall. The question is, will enough people abandon Mike Francis's campaign to allow Jay Dardenne in?

My bet is no. The people that won't vote for Francis are already in Dardenne's camp and if anything, Dardeen has the most too lose with a Libertarian in the race. Dardenne has voted time and time again with the Democrat party, voting for the Stelly bill, which ultimately proved to raise taxes on the general public. Republican voters probably won't abandon this for a third party candidate, but even if they do, Dardenne should take the biggest hit from it.

The Libertarian Party may have it's biggest impact in what is being billed as one of the top ten races in the nation. The 3rd district where rumor has it that they will field one of two possible candidates. The most interesting candidate is one named Melacon. Yes, with the same last name as the Democrat who currently holds one of two Louisiana congressional districts for the Democrats. As we found out in Florida during the 2000 election, and ever since, Democrat voters just aren't too bright. Will this confuse the Democrat voters in the third congressional district enough to give Romero the edge? Or will it actually hurt the Republicans by giving Charlie Melacon more name recognition, thus throwing him over 50% and avoiding the runoff?

The other possibility is a black female candidate from Franklin, La. With enough funding, she may interrupt the black vote just enough to cost Melacon some votes, and she may have it. Where the Libertarians may have it's greatest impact in Louisiana, may end up just being a golden opportunity passed up. We'll know very soon, when the Libertarians make a move to file all of their candidates at once. Well the rest of the press even pick up on it?

Hello my friend: I am not in a physical-war against right wingers and fascists. I am in a philosophical, theorical war against right wingers and fascist criminals. Because i am saving my energies right now for the *physical military war* against fascists, if there needs to be one. But in the mean time i guess we can beat fascists in the philosophical, theorical arena !!

I debate with proofs, not with DUMB small talk like right wingers do because right wingers are dumb (They haven't read a book in their whole life). And my proof against fascists and right wingers is that they are evil and killers, and/or supporters of killers and fascist political parties and right wing governments and that socialists and left-wingers are moral, humanists and rational.

Bush, Hitler, Pinochet, Israel, are *RIGHT-WINGERS-KILLERS* and so far they have killed MILLIONS of Iraqui people

Chavez, Salvador Allende of Chile, Kim Jong of NK, Lenin, Luther King, Evo Morales, Che Guevara Fidel and other socialist movements and governments haven't killed anybody. (Stalin wasn't socialist)

Pack your bags because pretty soon the world and the USA will be socialist, when workers and poor people will learn more about the satanic evils of capitalism and the godly morally ideology of socialism :-)

By fascist he means Republicans which in reality means 'Woe to those that oppose him', because when it finally becomes necessary to defeat his opposition using physical violence, he will be ready. This crazed radical wants to socialism to gain as much power as possible through legitimate means, and when that no longer is feasible, will then resort to violence.

I suppose Juan Carlos is one of those 'Peaceniks' that opposes 'Bush's war for oil', but as the evidence goes to show, he's willing to go to war, to kill, in order to force his lifestyle preference of big government dictatorship onto each one of you. Woe to those that oppose him.

Juan Carlos, from this Republican, I want to thank you and the growing number of Lunatics on the Left for being Republicans biggest ally. The more you speak, the more you scare the hell out of people, the easier it is for Republicans to get re-elected. The other night a right-winger hit my sister's car at the back after she stopped in a stop sign. My 6th sense tells me that it was done by a right-winger capitalist, cuz fascists use KKK bumper stickers, well after he in a fascist truck (Dodge Ram) hit her, he ran away and didn't confront that accident.

USA is full of right winger capitalists. Almost 80% of USA population are fascists and right wingers. This is very troublesome for moral and average humans like Mike Rivero, Chomsky, James Petras, etc. that either are moral and born here in the USA and that come from other nations, cuz the other people of the other nation have not recieved a military and fascist education like most US high schools students and people recieve here
